Johnson Hospitality was founded by Ron and Randy Johnson in 1999. Leveraging Ron’s 14-year career with Marriott and decades of executive and management experience, they obtained a Courtyard franchise and successfully developed and built the Courtyard Palo Alto-Los Altos, a hotel they still own and manage to this day. Today Johnson Hospitality has interests in five Marriott branded hotel properties throughout the Northern California area such as Courtyard, SpringHill Suites, Residence Inn, and Fairfield Inn & Suites. A sixth hotel is currently under development, a dual branded Residence Inn and Fairfield Inn in the Santa Clara area scheduled to open in early 2019.

The founding member of Johnson Hospitality, Ron Johnson was responsible for the ownership, development and operations of the Courtyard by Marriott Palo Alto-Los Altos in Los Altos, California. Also the Managing Member of the ownership group, Four Seasons Associates LLC, Ron was responsible for the construction of a 190-room hotel during the difficult economic times following the events of September 11, 2001.
Ron Johnson was also instrumental in the development of the award winning SpringHill Suites Napa Valley. A custom designed, custom built property, Ron provided pre-opening advisory and management services. He remains actively involved in the ongoing management and oversight of the property.

Ron graduated from the University of Minnesota in Duluth with a Political Science degree in 1963. In college he was a varsity athlete in hockey and golf. Ron served in the United States Army from 1965-1967.

Randy began working for Johnson Hospitality in the Summer of 2000 when the Courtyard Palo Alto-Los Altos was in the early planning and construction phase. He is active in all phases of Johnson Hospitality and responsible for its day to day operations. Randy specializes in budgeting, financial analysis, competitive positioning, hotel operations, asset management and ownership services.
On January 8, 2009, Johnson Hospitality opened the SpringHill Suites Napa Valley. Randy was responsible for leading the pre-opening operations process. Under his leadership, the property earned the Opening General Manager of the Year award and the Opening Sales Team of the Year award from Marriott International. Post-opening, Randy is responsible for the entire hotel operating team with a focus on market analysis, guest satisfaction, and maximizing investor return.
Randy led Johnson Hospitality through the first of many ventures with InfiniPower Hospitality beginning in 2012 with the assumption of management services at the SpringHill Suites Sacramento Airport - Natomas. The successful nature of this partnership led to the acquisition and management of the Fairfield Inn Rancho Cordova in September 2013 and the development of the Residence Inn and Fairfield Inn North San Jose (opening late 2018).
Before joining Johnson Hospitality, Randy was a Senior Associate at HVS International from 1997 to 2000. As a consultant for HVS, he performed appraisals and feasibility studies of over forty lodging facilities in sixteen states. He also assisted in assignments requiring expert testimony for the purpose of property tax assessment disputes and ground rent arbitration. He graduated from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree and an academic concentration in finance.

Stacy Smith began working for Johnson Hospitality in 2002 with a concentration in human resources and operations. She is involved in all phases of hiring and staffing and is responsible for oversight of all human resource functions.
Prior to Johnson Hospitality , Stacy worked for Wyndham International in various capacities from 1998 to 2002. At the time of her departure from Wyndham, Stacy was a Vice President-Regional Human Resources Operations. She also served in numerous capacities at the Hilton Chicago Hotel and Towers from 1992 to 1997, most recently as their Assistant Director of Human Resources. Stacy graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in Hotel Management in 1992.

As Director of Business Development and Operations, Erik is responsible for growing Johnson Hospitality's profile and leading all aspects of Johnson Hospitality’s managed properties. Operationally, Erik focuses on maximizing efficiency and effectiveness. Financially, he takes the lead in revenue management and works closely with the team to ensure budget and revenue expectations are met. Regarding sales and customer service, Erik creates internal structures and programs to ensure the highest quality of service for our guests.
Erik brings more than 15 years of hospitality and management experience to Johnson Hospitality. His professional journey has taken him across the country working in numerous industries along the way. From working in restaurants such as Rubicon in San Francisco and Toppers at the Wauwinet on Nantucket to account management at Altria to his current position at Johnson Hospitality, Erik has gleaned a tremendous amount of experience and wisdom.
Erik received a B.S. in Business Management from Stonehill College and a M.B.A. from Babson College. Erik is also a trained actor in theater, improvisation and voice over and belongs to Alpha Psi Omega, the National Theater Honor Society.

Somer is a Bay Area native who began her career in hospitality at the Springhill Suites in Napa Valley, California. While she worked her way up through the hotel industry at the property level, she simultaneously earned an Associate of Science degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences from the Napa Valley College followed by a Bachelor of Arts degree in Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley.
Upon graduation, Somer began working for Johnson Hospitality at the corporate level in February of 2014. While working at Johnson Hospitality, she furthered her educational goals and obtained a professional certificate in Advanced Hospitality Revenue Management from Cornell University.
Somer has been responsible for all aspects of property operations including revenue management, financial analysis and guest satisfaction. While she thoroughly enjoyed her operations role, she has since found her passion for working with people. Somer now acts in a dual role as Operations and Human Resource Manager where she is responsible for operations and all aspects of human resources. She plans to further her HR educational goals by obtaining a PHR certification in the near future.

Manny has built a successful career and gained valuable perspectives from his ten years of varied and extensive experience in the industry. Manny’s passion focuses on learning and understanding all aspects of growing a successful business. He moved to New Orleans in 2005 to assist with the disaster recovery efforts after Hurricane Katrina. While in New Orleans, he fell in love with tourism and business management. He started in the industry as a property controller and quickly moved his way up to hold positions such as Accounting Manager and Assistant General Manager. He became the youngest General Manager in his company’s history at the age of 24, eventually earning the title of Area Manager shortly thereafter. During Manny’s time as Area Manager, his properties were consistently recognized for exceptional revenue growth. This achievement led to his appointment to the Ascend Collection brand committee. Responsible for growth nationwide. He has trained several department heads including General Managers and Revenue Managers who have advanced to lead successful careers.
Manny enjoys spending time with family and friends on the water and has a love for nature and engineering. Manny relocated back to California to be closer to family and joined our team focusing in the areas of the field he loves most.
Harman has opted not to post a bio. Therefore I will write one for him. Harman is very nice and polite. He dresses well but doesn't over dress. He says his favorite food is sushi but it appears to be Indian given the lunches he brings in to the office. An item on his buscket list is to wrestle an alligator. I think he should focus on wrestling Accounts Payable instead. Harman is in the process of changing his last name to Mark so when he writes his name on applications in comes out Mark, Harman like the actor in his favorite movie Summer School, a moderately entertaining 1987 comedy.
June has chosen not to include a bio. However, she did say that I could write one for her. Known as the Sage of South Korea in the town of Danville, June offers a Free Advice stand in the town commons every Saturday morning. She is sought out by many for her calm presence and razor sharp wit. In her youth, June studied with a master ninja in the hills of Pleasanton, CA. Harman sits next to June and will often test her skills by throwing paper clips and other office debris at her which she blindly catches. June's reflexes are impressive. If accounting needs help collecting debts, June is sent out to "encourage" their prompt payment. Her favorite movie is Bone Tomahawk.
