Randy Johnson President and Chief Executive Officer at Johnson Hospitality

Randy Johnson

President and Chief Executive Officer

Randy specializes in business strategy, investment analysis, hotel operations, asset management, and ownership services. He founded Johnson Hospitality with his father, Ron, in 1999. They developed and opened their first property in 2002, the Courtyard Palo Alto-Los Altos. They maintain an equity position and provide hotel management services there to this day. He opened the SpringHill Suites Napa Valley in 2009 and was responsible for leading the pre-opening process. The property earned the Opening General Manager of the Year award and the Opening Sales Team of the Year award from Marriott International.

Randy led Johnson Hospitality through the first of multiple ventures with InfiniPower Hospitality beginning in 2012 with the assumption of management services at the SpringHill Suites Sacramento Airport - Natomas. This successful partnership led to the acquisition and management of the Fairfield Inn Rancho Cordova with InfiniPower in September 2013 and the development and management of the Residence Inn and Fairfield Inn North San Jose in 2019. Over the next five years, the managed portfolio doubled in size under his leadership.

Before joining Johnson Hospitality, Randy was a Senior Associate at HVS International from 1997 to 2000. As a consultant for HVS, he performed appraisals and feasibility studies of over forty lodging facilities in sixteen states. He also assisted in assignments requiring expert testimony for the purpose of property tax assessment disputes and ground rent arbitration. He graduated from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree and an academic concentration in finance. Randy sits on the board of the SFP, which is the Conventions and Visitors Bureau for San Mateo County.

In his spare time, Randy can be found spending time with his wife, three children, and two English Bulldogs. He enjoys skiing in Lake Tahoe and serves as Scoutmaster for his local boy scout troop.

With two decades of dedicated experience in the hospitality industry, Manny Singh brings a wealth of versatile knowledge in hotel operations, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail. His expertise spans renowned brands such as Marriott, Hilton, Choice Hotels, and independent boutique properties. Manny's proficiency extends to in-depth market analysis and a comprehensive understanding of hotel performance metrics, enabling strategic decision-making and identifying key growth opportunities. He also possesses significant engineering knowledge, including expertise in hardware, software, networking, and advanced spreadsheet applications, further enhancing his operational capabilities.

Manny's leadership is deeply rooted in the principles of stewardship. He fosters collaborative and empowering environments where team members are valued and supported to achieve their full potential. He embraces an infinite mindset, continuously seeking innovative solutions and viewing challenges as opportunities for learning and evolution. This forward-thinking approach drives a culture of continuous improvement and sustainable growth within our organization. Marriott recognized his exceptional leadership qualities, leading to his selection as a speaker for over 3,000 general managers, where he shared insights into leadership and career growth in the hotel industry.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Manny has a variety of personal interests. He enjoys Bar-B-Qs, working on cars and around the house, spending time with family, discovering new technologies, and sim racing.


 

Josh Howard Executive Director of Operations at Johnson Hospitality

Josh Howard

Executive Director of Operations

Josh oversees the day-to-day operations for all our hotels, with a strategic emphasis on enhancing guest satisfaction scores and financial outcomes. Mentoring, training, and cultivating our current and future leaders are also essential priorities. Furthermore, Josh concentrates on establishing strong relationships with our ownership teams and brands, facilitating the creation and organization of capital and renovation projects across our portfolio. 

Previously, Josh served as the Opening Dual General Manager for Johnson Hospitality's 261-key Residence Inn & Fairfield by Marriott San Jose North.  This opening was recognized as one of the top launches Marriott has ever experienced. As an industry veteran with nearly two decades of General Manager experience at Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt Full Service and Select Service Properties throughout the United States, Josh possesses extensive experience with new hotel openings and the strategic realignment of underperforming hotels.  

Josh continues to demonstrate his passion for hospitality in his spare time through extensive international travel.

Robert Johnson Regional Director of Operations at Johnson Hospitality

Robert Johnson has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. In his current role as Regional Director of Operations he oversees a region of properties, ensuring their smooth and efficient functioning, adherence to brand standards, operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and ownership support. 

Beginning his career as a night auditor in his hometown of Hanfrod, CA for a Comfort Inn, he has since risen through leadership roles with multiple brands and properties up and down California. Throughout his career, he has held nearly all positions of Front of House, Back of House, F&B, Banquets, Accounting, Human Resources, and Sales & Marketing. 

With the opening The Residence Inn and Fairfield Inn and Suites San Jose North, a multi blended Marriott concept in the heart of Silicon Valley nearby Levi’s Stadium, Roberts management and dedication as the opening Dual Assistant General Manager led to his promotion to Dual General Manager.  This Dual Property has been a hospitality leader in the area and preferred property for many well-known corporate entities and the first choice for devoted sports fans.

As a 49ers fan you can often find Robert attending home games at Levi’s Stadium. Also a fan of home cooking, Robert will cook for and serve his employees for a “job well done” during those busy stadium events.

Stacy Smith Vice President of Human Resources at Johnson Hospitality

Vice President of Human Resources

Stacy Smith is a dynamic hospitality executive with over two decades of experience driving strategic human resource operational excellence. As a minority principal and key force behind the launch of Johnson Hospitality in 2000, she has helped shape the company’s identity as a people-first organization focused on culture, talent, and enduring performance. In her role, Stacy functions as a strategic partner to executive leadership—leading all facets of human resources, from talent acquisition and workforce planning to organizational design, training and development and operational efficiency. Her broad generalist expertise has enabled Johnson Hospitality to scale successfully while maintaining a strong, values-driven culture that prioritizes associates, owners, and operational excellence.

Prior to Johnson Hospitality, Stacy served as Vice President of Regional Human Resources Operations at Wyndham International, where she oversaw multi-property HR strategies across diverse markets. Earlier in her career, she held key HR leadership roles at the Chicago Hilton and Towers, gaining hands-on operational insight that continues to inform her people-first approach. 

Stacy earned her degree in Hospitality Management and Tourism from the University of Denver and remains passionate about building workplaces where people thrive.

Outside of work, Stacy finds joy in spending time with her husband, Abbott, and their four daughters. Whether playing golf, relaxing at the beach or by the fire, or simply enjoying family time, she values the balance that makes a meaningful life both professionally and personally.

Melissa is the Regional Director of Human Resources with extensive expertise in the hospitality industry. With a deep passion for mentoring and developing talent, Melissa has become a recognized leader in the field, committed to fostering growth and enhancing employee experiences. Having worked in the hotel industry for over 20 years, Melissa has successfully led HR initiatives and projects that prioritize employee development, engagement, and organizational effectiveness. Known for building strong, supportive teams, Melissa is dedicated to empowering employees to reach their full potential. Melissa holds a commitment to continuous improvement and strives to create a positive work environment where employees can thrive.

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys planning and organizing events, a hobby that aligns with their love of bringing people together. Family is incredibly important to Melissa. Along with her husband, she has raised two daughters and their niece, fostering an environment of care, support, and love. Melissa is someone who values connection, growth, and creating meaningful experiences both personally and professionally.

Cristina Ortiz has been a valued member of the Johnson Hospitality team for over five years, serving as a Human Resources Administrator. In her role, she supports key HR functions including onboarding, compliance, employee relations, and administrative coordination. Her attention to detail, discretion, and commitment to fostering a positive workplace environment make her a trusted resource for both employees and leadership.

Cristina is known for her strong organizational skills and clear communication style, ensuring that HR processes run smoothly and efficiently. She brings a people-first approach to her work, helping to cultivate a culture where employees feel supported and empowered. As a bilingual professional fluent in English and Spanish, she also plays a key role in bridging communication across a diverse workforce.

Outside of work, Cristina enjoys spending time in nature—whether hiking, biking, or camping—finding inspiration and balance in the outdoors. Her connection to nature offers a calm, grounded outlook that informs her thoughtful approach to work and people.

Lisa Christiensen Vice President of Finance at Johnson Hospitality

Lisa Christiensen

Vice President of Finance

As the VP of Finance at Johnson Hospitality, Lisa spearheads centralized accounting operations of the hotels, and will also play a major role in Income tax preparation. The finance team at JHS is responsible for all day to day accounting operations, month- end close and to include reconciliation and payment of all State and County regulated taxes. Lisa and her team take pride in the mastery of tax audits and tax compliance. Lisa's additional duties will include hotel openings/takeovers, cash management/cash flow projections, budget preparation, management of owner/investor distributions, lender refinancing and reporting, report creation, financial analysis, compliance of all accounting controls and procedures, and the training of all staff and hotel constituents.

She brings a wealth of expertise cultivated through a distinguished career in the accounting sector. Her journey began in 1998, where she learned the fundamentals of accounting while working as a bookkeeper for her family's computer business. A Bay Area native, Lisa's passion for hospitality led her to the Claremont Resort & Spa in Berkeley, where she started her hotel career as an Income Auditor in 2001.

Driven by curiosity and a commitment to growth, Lisa progressed through every level of the accounting organizational chart. This comprehensive understanding culminated in her first Controller role in 2009 with Fairmont hotels. Her extensive hospitality background encompasses experience with independent and branded hotels, full-service and select-service properties, brand conversions, new constructions, and fractional ownerships.

Prior to joining Johnson Hospitality in 2018, Lisa served as an Area Controller for Fillmore Hospitality, overseeing the openings of newly built Cambria hotels in Texas, New Orleans, Nashville, and Los Angeles. A creative and protective force for the business, Lisa possesses an impressive skillset for making swift and sound decisions that meet the diverse needs of owners, managers, guests, and operational teams.

A natural trainer, Lisa is passionate about the professional growth of others. Her accounting education includes studies at Diablo Valley College, Heald College, and San Francisco Junior College, providing her with a strong foundation in multiple accounting facets. In her free time, Lisa enjoys activities such as exercise and spending time outdoors, as well as weekend trips with girlfriends. Lisa is accompanied by her husband, Jerry, with whom she enjoys relaxing weekends that include visits to the Lafayette Reservoir, watching movies, and cooking.

Jagdeep Kaur Corporate Controller at Johnson Hospitality

Corporate Controller

Jagdeep Kaur is the Corporate Controller at Johnson Hospitality, overseeing the full accounting cycle for all JH-managed hotels. She ensures accurate tax compliance with city, county, and state guidelines and works closely with hotel General Managers to align financial performance with budgets and forecasts. Jagdeep also leads the Staff Accountant and Assistant Controller teams, ensuring adherence to USALI regulations, GAAP standards, and timely preparation of income statements and balance sheet reconciliations. Her meticulous management has maintained a 100% on-time delivery rate for financial reports over the past three years.

Jagdeep began her career in the hospitality industry in 2013 as a Staff Accountant at Pier2620 San Francisco. A few years later, she joined Westin SFO as a Senior Staff Accountant, quickly advancing to Assistant Controller. During her tenure, she served as Acting Temporary Director of Finance. This experience allowed her to gain valuable expertise in high-level hotel financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and labor management. She was recognized as Best Employee and Leader of the Year. This role opened doors for her to work with Marriott, a leading brand in the hotel industry.

At Marriott, Jagdeep worked at the Marriott Marquis San Francisco as Director of Finance Assistant Controller, followed by a role at The Ritz-Carlton, where she gained luxury brand experience. Over five years with Marriott, she was honored with the prestigious Circle Award, recognizing her as the Best Accounting Leader for her exceptional contributions to financial management and team leadership. During this time, she honed her expertise in hotel financial management, adding significant milestones to her career.

Outside of her professional achievements, Jagdeep treasures spending time with her husband and daughter. She enjoys outdoor adventures like hiking, camping, and exploring national parks, nurturing her love for nature. Jagdeep’s hobbies include gardening, visiting farmers' markets with her daughter, and cooking healthy meals for her family.

Randall Wilson Corporate Director of Food & Beverage

Randall Wilson brings over two decades of full-service hospitality expertise and high-volume culinary operations to the Johnson Hospitality corporate team. As a vital member of the corporate team, Randall specializes in operational stabilization, financial optimization, and delivering premium guest experiences, with a particular mastery in large-scale food and beverage operations. His leadership is anchored by deep expertise in managing high-revenue banquet operations and multi-outlet properties. Notably, Randall spent over a decade at the iconic Claremont Resort and Spa, rising from the Director of Banquets to Director of Food and Beverage and Director of Operations. In these roles, he personally directed a $15 million annual F&B budget, oversaw 30,000 square feet of high-end banquet space, managed three distinct restaurant outlets, and orchestrated major culinary activations like the Berkeley Wine Festival. Demonstrating his deeply valued expertise, Randall later returned to the Claremont
Resort to serve as the General Manager of Restaurants and Bars, providing senior oversight to the property's premier dining venues. His proven track record also includes serving as the Director of Food and Beverage for Le Méridien San Francisco, where he spearheaded major restaurant and lobby bar rebrandings, multiple outlets and extensive banquet space. Additionally, as the Regional Director of Food and Beverage for Western Athletic Clubs, Randall directed the standards and financial
responsibilities for ballrooms, conference catering, and poolside services across multiple sports resorts. Complementing his F&B background is a strong pedigree in property leadership and operational turnaround. Randall served as General Manager for the SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Napa. Furthermore, as a Taskforce General Manager, he has provided critical interim executive leadership for premier properties during management transitions, including the Hyatt Santa Barbara, the Four Points by Sheraton Tucson Airport, and the Courtyard by Marriott Vallejo Napa Valley. Randall holds a BA in Business Economics from the UCSB, and an AA in Hotel and Motel Operations from Skyline College. Outside of his professional life, Randall loves traveling, spending time at the beach and attending concerts.

Liz is a seasoned finance professional with over 40 years of experience in the hospitality industry, specializing in accounting and financial management. She currently serves as a Corporate Staff Accountant at Johnson Hospitality, a position she has held since October 2021. Liz’s career also includes roles such as Corporate Controller at J Hospitality & Development (Dec 2018 - Sep 2021) and Area Controller at Maison Dupuy, Fillmore Hospitality (2013 - 2018). From 1984 to 2013, she held various leadership positions at Omni Hotels & Resorts, including Area Director of Finance and Director of Finance at Omni Royal Orleans. Liz has a proven track record of managing financial operations, budgeting, and accounting across multiple hotels, delivering exceptional results in fast-paced environments. Her expertise in financial analysis, leadership, and team management underscores her dedication to the hospitality sector.

Outside of her professional achievements, Liz has a passion for the arts. She learned to play the guitar in grammar school, initially to perform during mass, and developed an interest in visual arts during high school. Liz still enjoys drawing and painting in her free time. Additionally, she earned her college degree at age 36 while attending night school.  Liz finds fulfillment in both problem-solving and creative processes, which she applies both professionally and personally.

Valentina has been a valued member of the Johnson Hospitality team for three years, serving as the bookkeeper. With strong attention to detail and a passion for maintaining accuracy, she plays a key role in keeping the company’s financial records organized and up-to-date. Outside of work, Valentina enjoys spending time outdoors, whether playing tennis, gardening, or simply connecting with nature. These activities help her stay active, balanced, and energized.

Rich Kraiker Corporate Revenue Management Leader at Johnson Hospitality

Rich Kraiker

Corporate Revenue Management Leader

Rich Kraiker is one of the hotel industry's foremost experts in revenue management and a true pioneer in the field. He began his career with roles in operations and sales, twice earning general manager of the year awards. Rich shifted to the revenue management discipline, serving as the Silicon Valley Cluster Director for Marriott International with a later promotion to Regional Director, Revenue Management. At the conclusion of his Marriott career, Rich served as the Continent Senior Director, Revenue Management, where he was responsible for 780 hotels throughout North America.

Rich went on to an independent consulting career working with clients such as Marriott, Aimbridge, Island Hospitality, Apple Hospitality, Colony Capital, and many others. He is frequently engaged as an expert liaison between Marriott International and other hotel management and ownership entities. He is an expert in Marriott International systems and tools, having been instrumental in many of their designs. He assisted in the development of the precursors to what is now the TravelClick universe of revenue management tools. He joined Johnson Hospitality in 2019 as Corporate Revenue Management Leader with oversight of the entire hotel portfolio.

In October 2018, Germaine brought her extensive hospitality experience to Johnson Hospitality as an Area General Manager. Recognizing her strategic capabilities, she was promoted in April 2020 as the first Corporate Revenue Manager for Johnson Hospitality. Demonstrating immediate value, Germaine successfully drove market share premiums for the company even during the challenging coronavirus crisis. Germaine's expertise encompasses all facets of revenue management, including the development and implementation of strategy, dynamic pricing, effective yield management, in-depth demand analysis, accurate forecasting, and a keen understanding of micro and macroeconomic influences.

Germaine embarked on her hospitality journey in 1998 as a Front Desk Agent/Night Auditor, a role that ignited a lasting passion. This foundation led to promotions as Assistant Manager and General Manager after earning her Business Management degree. Throughout her career, Germaine consistently excelled in managing diverse hotel properties, driving significant revenue and service growth through dedicated team leadership. Her achievements were acknowledged with her appointment as a Hampton by Hilton Ambassador, where she mentored aspiring general managers, emphasizing strength-based coaching to cultivate purposeful and engaged teams. Germaine’s leadership is guided by her motto: “Lead with purpose, dedication, integrity, and enthusiasm.”

Outside of her demanding professional life, Germaine recognizes life is short and is committed to enjoying every minute of it. She deeply values quality time spent with her family. To relax and recharge, she enjoys a wide spectrum of music, readily transitioning between the energetic rhythms of metal and the laid-back vibes of reggae.

Maria Larios Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing at Johnson Hospitality

Maria is currently the Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing at Johnson Hospitality, where she leads a talented team dedicated to delivering exceptional service and achieving outstanding results. With over a decade of experience in the hospitality industry, Maria specializes in negotiation, direct sales, business development, digital marketing, and market analysis. Her mission is to support revenue growth and team development across the company’s portfolio while fostering individual advancement. Maria is a doer, problem-solver, and collaborator. Maria is empathetic, focused, and results-driven, deeply committed to integrity, excellence, and innovation. 

Maria began her career as a Sales Coordinator with the Hilton Brand while attending San Jose State University full-time, quickly advancing to an Extended Stay Sales Expert. She worked closely with the Homewood Suites Brand on panel discussions aimed at developing innovative learning tools. As an award-winning Director of Sales, Maria earned recognition for achieving the highest RevPAR and extended-stay occupancy rates with the Homewood Suites. She was then given the exciting opportunity to open two Marriott properties in San Jose with Johnson Hospitality, successfully launching a dual-branded hotel while achieving significant revenue growth and strong corporate account relationships. Although the pandemic struck shortly after the openings, Maria played an integral part in keeping the hotels operational by identifying extended-stay businesses in the area. This success led to her promotion as the first-ever Corporate Sales Leader for Johnson Hospitality, where she provided mentorship and support for the sales and marketing team. 

During her downtime, Maria enjoys spending quality time with her husband and three children, often hiking or heading to the beach for family adventures. On rainy days, she loves to unwind by curling up with a good book and crocheting—whenever her kids let her enjoy a quiet moment!!

Tracy Hann-Culp Revenue Manager atJohnson Hospitality

Tracy Hann-Culp

Revenue Manager

Tracy joined the Johnson Hospitality Team in 2023, bringing extensive experience in hospitality and revenue management. With a career spanning top brands such as Hilton, Marriott, IHG, and Choice, she has successfully led both Select Service and Full-Service properties.

Her journey in hospitality began in 1991, where she quickly discovered her passion. After graduating with honors in Hotel and Restaurant Management, she worked her way through every department, ultimately becoming a General Manager. In this role, she built high-performing teams and consistently drove success in revenue indexes, guest satisfaction, and team engagement.

Tracy’s exceptional leadership caught the attention of Hampton by Hilton, where she became one of the brand’s first Ambassadors. She played a key role in mentoring and developing the next generation of General Managers through the ‘Game Changers’ program—an initiative focused on elevating guest and team member satisfaction.

Recognized for her expertise in revenue management and market analysis, Tracy transitioned full-time into revenue management in 2022.

Outside of work, she enjoys baking, exploring scenic hiking trails, and spending quality time with her family.
